Karunya Vishranti Bhavan
The Vishranthi Bhavan is a versatile project under the Karunya Guidance Centre. VishrantiBhavan started 1998, since to till more than thousands of inmates reside here, with many inmates being partially or completely bedridden.
Hospice and Palliative Care
We cater to the physical and spiritual needs of terminally ill cancer patients who are awaiting the release from their pain through a peaceful death. Though rejected by their relatives and hospitals, the hospice cares for them all, without discrimination of race, caste or religion.
Old Age Home
Both men and women who, in their poverty and rejection by near and dear ones, cannot care or fend for themselves due to old age, homeless people who are found begging on the streets, perhaps due to mental disabilities and orphans who are discharged from hospitals are taken care of, with love and respect to their dignity.
Karunya Psycho-Socio Rehabilitation Centre:
Karunya also provides for psychosocial rehabilitation by aiding in the restoration of community functioning and well being of those individuals identified with mental health or emotional disorders, who may be considered as having a psychiatric disability. This process is done in addition to psychiatric treatment and focuses on many things including fighting social prejudice, incorporating social inclusion etc. Karunya aims to enable persons with such psychiatric difficulties to lead a normal, productive life.
Karunya Sanketham
The often marginalized section of the sick, the AIDS/HIV+ves are the beneficiaries of this project. They are provided with emotional support, guidance and material support along with the provision of educational support to their children.
Karunya St. Mary’s Clinic
This is yet another project under the aegis of Karunya which functions at the Vishranthi Bhavan in the evenings. It has proven beneficial not only for the inmates of the Vishranthi Bhavan but the local villagers too, who avail of its services as a primary health care concern. Many doctors and P.G. students of the Medical College regularly offer their services here, along with our Doctors (Volunteers) and others.
